On January 20 2017, almost 500 Kamloopsians showed up to the Women’s March on Washington in solidarity with the United States to show their support for equality in our city and beyond. This year, we march again. We acknowledge that there is still work to do to become a fully equal community and world.
Join us on January 20 at 300 Lorne Street in front of Sandman Centre in downtown Kamloops at 10:30am. Several local speakers will kick off the event with the March to follow. We acknowledge that this event will take place on the traditional and unceded territory of the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc people. Updates on speakers will be posted soon.
Donations to cover costs of this event are currently being accepted. Money will go toward a city permit, supplies, and insurance. All excess donations will be donated to Kamloops Y Women’s Shelter.
This event is open to all sexes, races, sexual orientations, and abilities. The March is also wheelchair accessible. We hope to see you there to show your support for equality in Kamloops.
