We are not ready to put away their protest signs just yet...are you?

On January 21, 2017, tens of thousands of Canadians took to the streets from coast to coast, and in Washington, D.C., joining together to defend women’s equality and other causes. We know there are events across the country that women and allies need to know about. Our mission is to inspire, unite and lead the charge for the advancement of women across Canada. Any time women gather with a collective intention, it's a powerful thing. Let's see this happen across Canada!

  • A21 Walk for Freedom KW

    • Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 10:00 PM – October 21, 2018
There are millions of slaves in the world today, and that’s why we walk.
WALK FOR FREEDOM IS OUR GLOBAL FUNDRAISING AND AWARENESS EVENT, RALLYING TENS OF THOUSANDS OF ABOLITIONISTS, TAKING MILLIONS OF STEPS, IN HUNDREDS OF CITIES ALL OVER THE WORLD. WE WALK TO DISRUPT THE TRAJECTORY OF SLAVERY AND SHAKE ITS FOUNDATION WITH OUR STEPS.
LAST YEAR, WE SHOWED UP IN OVER 400 LOCATIONS, IN 50 COUNTRIES, REACHING 70 MILLION PEOPLE THROUGH VARIOUS MEDIA PLATFORMS. PEOPLE WERE IMPACTED AND THE SOUND OF FREEDOM WAS HEARD THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. EACH STEP MATTERED. EACH STEP MADE A DIFFERENCE.
BUT THERE ARE MILLIONS WHO HAVE YET TO BE FREED. THIS YEAR WE CONTINUE TO WALK, FUNDRAISE, TO SHOW UP, TO RAISE AWARENESS, TO FIGHT—FOR THE VICTIMS IN OUR CITIES AND AROUND THE GLOBE STILL TRAPPED IN SLAVERY.
WITH EACH STEP, WE WE WILL SEE MORE PEOPLE REACHED. WITH EACH DOLLAR, WE WILL SEE MORE VICTIMS IDENTIFIED. WITH EACH STEP, WE WILL SEE MORE SURVIVORS RESTORED. WITH EACH DOLLAR, WE WILL SEE TRAFFICKERS BROUGHT TO JUSTICE.
WALKING AND FUNDRAISING UNTIL EVERY SINGLE PERSON IS FREE.
SHOW UP. CHANGE YOUR CITY. IMPACT THE WORLD.
The local walk will begin in uptown waterloo square and end at St. Paul's University College.
This event is completely free, however, transportation back to the square will not be provided please make sure to make alternative arrangements for transportations. This event is completely free to all community members.
