Women's March Canada is a grassroots movement. We are made up of chapter leaders and march organizers. Our "head office", our advisors and our board of directors serve our chapter leaders, march organizers and women in Canada.
"A grassroots movement is one which uses the people in a given district, region, or community as the basis for a political or economic movement. Grassroots movements and organizations use collective action from the local level to effect change at the local, regional, national, or international level. Grassroots movements are associated with bottom-up, rather than top-down decision making, and are sometimes considered more natural or spontaneous than more traditional power structures."
Our work as organizers, committee members and chapter leaders serves our mission: to inspire, unite and lead the charge for the advancement of women across Canada. The work that we do, our vision and values can be explained in a unifying framework called H.E.R.S., which spells out the women’s rights priorities of Health, Economic Security, Representation, and Safety.
Imagine the day when our vision, making the equality of women in Canada the new norm, comes to be!
