Be part of a global advocacy platform and the FIRST ever Menstrual Hygiene Day on UW campus. Join us for a day of fun and discussion to raise awareness of the period stigma and recognize the importance of menstruation in women's health. This year, the theme of International Menstrual Hygiene Day is “Education”. At the University of Waterloo in partnership with HeForShe, our aim is to empower everyone through education to draw attention to the extent of the period stigma and lack of menstrual hygiene around the world.
At Menstrual Hygiene Day at UW, engage and learn about the importance of menstruation in women's health from a diverse panel featuring:
-Amanda Jenkins, PhD Candidate in Applied Psychology at the University of Guelph
-Sabrina Rubli, co-Founder and Executive Director of Canadian NGO Femme International
-Elizabeth Onyango, PhD Candidate in Geography at the University of Waterloo and Queen Elizabeth Scholar
-Dr. Susan Elliott, Professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental Management at the University of Waterloo
Panel starts at 2:00 pm EST.
Faculty, staff, students, and the community are all welcome to attend.
