Along with listing your Women's March Canada chapter on our website, you'll want to post your community's information in additional places, so that women and allies in your community can find you.
Women's March Global
We are excited to share the Women’s March Global Platform with you - our Canadian Chapters!
Women's March Global has been working to onboard all current chapters within the entire Women's March Network (Global, U.S., and now Canada). We are excited to work with Uma - the Director of Global Community - and set up one-to-one onboarding calls for all of our Canadian chapters so that Canada can be fully represented on this platform.
Take a moment to have a look at this video where the Director of Global Community, Uma Mishra-Newbery introduces the new Platform.
Google My Business Listing
For our purposes, this offering by Google should be called "Google My Organization"!
Google My Business is a free and easy-to-use tool for organizations to manage their online presence across Google, including Search and Maps. By verifying and editing your chapter's information, you can both help your community members find you and tell them the story of your chapter.
- Add or claim your business listing on Google using the steps in this video: https://youtu.be/UdCZMWkYDJQ. Steps to claim your listing are also here: https://support.google.com/business/answer/2911778?hl=en
- Optimize your Google listing: Once your listing with Google is verified, log into the dashboard of your Google My Business listing and make sure your listing there is optimized, e.g., you can add photos and more here! This link may help you through those steps: https://neilpatel.com/blog/optimize-google-my-business/
Your Chapter's Facebook Group
A Facebook Group, versus a Facebook page, is a place where your audience and members congregate and interact with you and with each other. The goal with a Facebook Group is not to simply broadcast your content. The goal is to build a community.
The Women's March Canada page on Facebook can be found here:
