Tenille Bonoguore answered 2018-08-20 10:08:40 -0400Q: Why do you want to run for office? (150 words or less)
A: When I moved to Waterloo, I found a city that embraces new people and new ideas. I want to keep that spirit alive at City Hall. Waterloo is in the midst of a major transformation. This municipal election will set the vision for what our city will become. I want to bring a community-first, empowering voice to City Hall so that we can build in and build up in ways that maintain the human scale of our neighbourhoods; protect the green space we have and work to set aside more for the future; promote affordable and accessible homes and spaces; and make it safer and easier to get around, whether that’s by car, transit, bike, or walking. We need City Hall to be a place that welcomes people and ideas, where local residents and businesses know their voices are heard. Uptown is changing. I want to make sure it remains a place that anyone can call home.
