Women's March Canada - Fredericton March

Women's March Canada - Fredericton March would like to acknowledge that the land on which we gather is the traditional unceded territory of the Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) and Mi’kmaq peoples. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) and Mi’kmaq peoples first signed with the British Crown in 1725. The treaties did not deal with surrender of lands and resources but in fact recognized Mi’kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) title and established the rules for what was to be an ongoing relationship between nations.

WE MARCH ~ in solidarity with women and human rights groups from across the world we will be marching to show that the progress made in 2017 was not enough. There is still so much work to do to protect and advance the rights of women, and the rights of all vulnerable citizens in our country. If you think 2017 was a loud year for women, well - you ain't seen nothing yet!

Women’s organizations in Fredericton with the organizers of last year’s Women’s March invite you to save the date for a timely conversation about women’s issues and practical tools for community organizing and lobbying in Fredericton.
